2018 AGM focuses on youth leaders
Each and every one of us has the potential to be a leader within our community, and this year’s REACH AGM and Showcase Celebration will focus on the work being done to build leadership capacity among Edmonton’s youth through the Police and Youth Engagement Program (PYEP).
The event will feature a panel discussion including youth, police and educators to discuss the work of the summer program that gives teenagers a chance to earn high school credits while developing positive relationships with the Edmonton Police Service and building community leadership skills.
“I’m so thrilled to be moderating this panel of youth, police, and teachers to talk about how PYEP has changed the lives of the youth who have participated in it,” said Jan Fox, Executive Director of REACH Edmonton.
The event will be held at Thursday, June 7 at Central Lions Recreation Centre, 11113-113 St., from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with the Showcase Celebration beginning at 6 p.m.
This evening, emceed by CBC Edmonton’s Mark Connolly, is an opportunity for Edmontonians to come together to explore how we can empower youth and other community members in becoming strong leaders in the future.
“We want our partners and community members to join us for this evening as we hear stories and explore how we’ve been working with our partners to create meaningful change in Edmonton and building a safer city for everyone,” said Fox.
