Crime prevention conference aims to build a safer tomorrow
A conference aimed at building a safer future for all Albertans will gather experts, community members, business owners, government and law enforcement to share knowledge and build collaboration in communities this spring.
The Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA) is hosting a crime prevention conference at the Coast Canmore Hotel and Conference Centre from May 6 - 9, 2019.
This year’s conference theme is “Together for a Safer Tomorrow” and will bring together inspiring voices for change in community safety through presentations, workshops, networking events and more.
The 2019 conference will offer two optional pre-conference training days on May 6 – 7, during which REACH Edmonton Executive Director Jan Fox will be sharing REACH’s experience and knowledge about neighbourhood-based crime prevention and capacity building programs.
“We’re so thrilled to be supporting and participating in this event,” said Fox. “This is an incredibly valuable opportunity for community leaders involved in crime prevention to share knowledge and ideas for finding innovative approaches to creating safer communities for everyone.”
Conference sessions and main speakers will be held May 8 - 9.
Additionally, the first annual Networking Nexus will be offered for attendees on the evening of May 8 at the Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Company.
