Please join us for another productive and engaging Community Safety Conversation

Thursday, October 25th 6:30PM – 8:30PM Westmount Community Hall – 10970 – 127 Street Throughout 2012 REACH Edmonton, in partnership with the Edmonton Police Service and the City of Edmonton, has been engaging citizens in discussions about community safety and crime prevention. The Community Safety Conversation sessions connect citizens and community leaders from across wards, enabling them to exchange stories, share ideas and discuss challenges. “Each event begins the process of facilitating training for community leaders, to help them organize more effectively and increase the safety of their communities,” said REACH Executive Director Jan Fox. Six successful and productive Community Safety Conversations have already been held in half the city’s civic wards. Sessions being held through October and November are connecting community leaders within the remaining six city wards. The media is invited to take part specifically in the Oct. 25 session at Westmount Community Hall, which promises to be a well-attended meeting. Interviews with participants and presenters can be arranged at the event. If any media outlets are unable to attend this meeting, their attendance is welcome at any of the remaining conversations being held throughout the fall. REACH is a community-based coordinating council that is working to make Edmonton a safer city. REACH works with organizations, agencies, community groups and individual Edmontonians; bringing them together to realize their innovative ideas for crime prevention.
