Seventh annual OST Conference offers practical supports
As the school year ends, front-line staff involved in offering summer programming will gather from across the city and province to access training opportunities and new ideas at the seventh annual Out-of-School-Time (OST) Conference June 28.
The event offers practical, pragmatic supports for groups delivering summer programs.
The conference is an opportunity for people who work with children and youth in out-of-school-time programming to access valuable training while sharing stories from the field and engaging in meaningful discussion.
“I really enjoyed this conference,” said one participant in 2017. “I travelled from south of Calgary to attend as there isn’t a conference like this in our area.”
REACH Edmonton supports the conference in many ways, such as chairing the organizing committee, with the aim of supporting organizations in keeping kids engaged in educational and recreational activities in a fun and safe place during the summer months.
Registration is now open for this day of informative and practical sessions focused on building staff and organizational capacity for summer programming.
The conference is $20 and includes all workshops, sessions and lunch. Space is limited.
